3D Models in Storyline
Hi,
is it possible to insert 3D Models and having the leanrers to rotate it with their own mouse? If not yet, when will this be available? I find this very useful and have seen it at the Learntec.
Hey there, Margit!
We're working on the ability to add 360° media assets to your courses, and include various interactive elements to those assets. We're confident this feature will be in your hands by the end of the year.
Those are all the details we have, but I promise to share all updates with you as soon as we have them!

Hi Katie,
I just found this discussion as I have the same request at the moment. We have a lot of 3 D models which we want to include in StoryLine projects. Are there any timeline when this function will be available for 360°?Happy Thursday and glad you found us, Stefanie!
We're hard at work to get 360° media into your hands by the end of this year, and that is still true. Since you're now subscribed to this discussion, we'll send you an email notification the moment this feature is live.

That sounds great, Katie! We do have a lot of 3D images of medical content and we would like to use storyline to put them all together in a nice way and add additional content. We can export it as PDF (with 3D), .OBJ or .STL file and would like to integrate them (not embed).

Hi, everyone!
While we don't support 3D models yet, I wanted to share that the feature my colleague Katie mentioned a few months ago has just been released!
In Update 54, we’ve included this feature:Create immersive learning experiences with 360° images. Add interactive elements, such as hotspots and markers, to engage learners as they explore.360° images are currently in public beta for Storyline 360, which means you can use them for production as we continue to enhance them.To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here. Please let us know if you have any questions by posting here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly. - DevonBedfordCommunity Member

I believe the closest Articulate can provide right now is the "add pictures as states" function.
I've mocked up an example which uses a slider to change the state of a png sequence. You do have to manually attach the trigger to each state, which is an absolute bear, but you can do some cool things. I once saw a 3D tour of a facility made of multiple layers of rendered objects set up this way, so that you could click on a tool in the room no matter the perspective.
You'll note that frame 30 pops. I'm not sure why it did that, but its a small matter relative to building the triggers.
