AI Voice Changed Accent
Hello AnneLanaway,
I understand you're using AI TTS Audio with Australian Steve's voice in Rise 360, and it doesn't sound as expected. I can confirm that we have this behavior logged with our team. Happy to learn more about your specific setup!
- Do you experience this change with any other voices or just Australian Steve?
- Is this happening in more than one course, or just this one?
I noticed in your screenshot that you are using model v3 when generating audio. As a troubleshooting step, you can select an earlier version each time you generate audio.
Here’s how:
- Open the AI text-to-speech window.
- Advanced settings.
- Next to Model, select Multilingual v2.
- Select Generate to preview the voice again.
Here's a quick visual of my experience when changing models!
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, and if you have any questions!
Does anyone have tips on a reliable V3 Australian accent for eLearning text to speech narration?
I used to use Lee Middle Aged Australian Male, but his accent changes to English in V3.

I have just completed a couple of projects using Paul (Australian) and, in the end, defaulted to starting all of his audio with "G'day, Australian Paul here. [actual content here]" and then editing the audio to remove "G'day, Australian Paul here".
It reliably stopped Paul veering into an English accent. You just have to remember to generate captions after you have trimmed off the "G'day…". Its a pain and a significant extra task (adds time to your dev), but I just got into the habit of doing it to all audio so I didn't have to worry about any English accent slipping through.
Another tip I have, especially for shorted AI text-to-speech conversions is to add [break time="0.25"] to the end of the text-to-speech text. This prevented a frequent issue I had with an audible pop/click at the end of the spoken audio. I would just trim the silent audio if necessary.
