    I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 98, we’ve included essential fixes and new features. One of the new features we’ve included is:

    • Engage learners with fluid transitions that seamlessly animate objects, shapes, and other content between slides.

I think your response is still there. Microsoft have the luxury that their presentations work within their powerpoint so they control the authoring and the player. Storyline has to publish content that works in browsers and does use an industry standard animation library to accomplish this. Animations have improved a lot and the roadmap does show more on the way.
