Animation in Storyline through the Morph Transition
Some time ago, PowerPoint came out with a transition called Morph that literally morphs shapes, colors, strokes, graphics, etc. from one slide to the next. In other words, if you build a design on one slide, duplicate the slide, and make changes to the shapes on the second slide, the Morph transition will smoothly deform the shapes from the first slide to the next.
This transition is POWERFUL for animation. I feel that small animations of this kind are especially important for a product like Storyline. In a sense, the ability to build animations is one of the key features that I feel is missing from Storyline. If Articulate would consider adding the Morph transition to Storyline, it would allow users to animate the graphics on the screen with triggers, and I believe that would open up new worlds of possibility with Storyline.
Is this something you all would consider adding to Storyline?
Hello everyone, 🎉
I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 98, we’ve included essential fixes and new features. One of the new features we’ve included is:
- Engage learners with fluid transitions that seamlessly animate objects, shapes, and other content between slides.
Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.

+1 I'm only just learning about Morph and its potential uses in PPT, but it's 'way cool! I immediately went to SL so I could check if it exists, and its absence plus this thread led me to a "no" (or "not yet," hopefully?) answer. :-(

I too would like to have morph transitions supported in Storyline!

For sure...get started with GSAP first... check my profile...and go learn GSAP. Then when your somewhat familiar with Javascript in Storyline... visit the GSAP site...
https://greensock.com/gsap/
Get a Club Greensock account and download the plugins needed... because off the bat not all the extra plugins are included in Storyline... only the bare bones GSAP is... MorphSVG is one of those extra plugins you need to get this working...
If your at that point...having access to GSAP's plugins... and need help... im here :-) - JonathanRoseCommunity Member

Actually you can create Morph animations with Storyline.

As seen in this sample from me you can morph SVG shapes. Using GSAP Morph you can morph any given shape in Storyline to another shape. Also imported shapes will work. If anyone wants a tutorial to see how to get that done with Storyline and GSAP let me know and i make one.- JeffTasCommunity Member
@mathnotermans - this is brilliant. Can you provide a tutorial to see how this was made !

Good Morning, All;
I am going to +1 for this feature as well.
If you take a look at how many companies are using Articulate (SL3 and up) as their primary development tool based on job descriptions and how many subscriptions that Articulate must have, I find it amazing that just because we take the time we are only "a small percentage of users". Personally, the less time I have to switch between dev products to create a module the better it is. Also, for downstream work if another ID has to work on the content but does not have the same tools I do, it becomes more difficult to update or modify.

I am using a workaround until this gets developed. I create the slides in PPt and export them as a movie file and use that in the background. Please prioritize this feature.

Yes, I do the same...but it's definitely not sustainable. This was something that Captivate was able to do in the early 2000's. I know that it may be a "More advanced" feature for the average Storyline user, but I feel that there are SO many benefits to having this feature and many would use it more often

I've been using Storyline for just two weeks. and I can already see how Morphing would be a great help to me having done a lot of it in ppt.
I think if anyone is a serious ppt user and has improved their presentations with morphs they couldn't fail to see how useful it would be here.

I would also like to add my vote for Morph in transitions. I use it all the time in ppt and I think it would be yet another gamechanger in Storyline - I'll even open a bottle of champagne to add bubbles to help it rise to the top of the wish list if that helps!

Yikes! I was hoping this request would be possible already. Please add me as a +1 for this request. It's a little frustrating that it is available in PowerPoint and NOT in Articulate.
