Another game built in SL
I shared the games I'm currently building in another discussion - thought I'd create one here. Glad there are quite a number here creating games using SL. It just proves a point that SL is quite a powerful tool!
Here are the 2 games that are in progress:
Snake & Ladder
swf version - http://raisavenue.com/show/games/snl/v02.13/story.html
html5 version - http://raisavenue.com/show/games/snl/v02.13/story_html5.html
This game will have quizzes, points and penalties, with the possibility of game levels. I've thought of giving it a modern twist, where the ladders are 'good' colleagues who could motivate and help the character to move up the ladder. Or the 'bad' ones, who could actually let you 'slide down' your career path.
Habbo-inspired Game (Use arrow keys to move the character)

html 5 version - http://raisavenue.com/show/games/campus/v01-2/story_html5.html
I'm still working on the game mechanics and SL architecture but this has lots of potential - imagine showing a work flow, moving from task to task, station to station.
Til the next update!

I'd love to see a little write-up of how you did this. I looked at the project, but the various layers and triggers kind of blew by mind.

Hey Mike, I'm prepping the 'how-tos' now. I'll split and post them in parts as I'm involved in multiple projects currently - pretty tight schedule.
Will try get Part 1 up this weekend and it'll cover the counter and the dice roll.
Thanks

Hey Mike,
Which game are you referring to?- MikeTobiasCommunity Member
I was referring to the SnL game. I didn't get a chance to look at the source for the other one yet. Thanks!

Rais, thanks for sharing these two awesome games here. I learned a lot from how you managed layers.

Hey Joanne, I learned a lot too from this exercise particularly the use of slide master. There are so many things that could be set here on the slide master like a custom menu, or a generic instructions or prompter, or even custom play buttons!

No rush at all on the how-tos, get your work done first! :)

Rais - Snakes & Ladders looks especially cool and the visuals made me feel a bit nostalgic for "Pitfall." Can't wait to hear more about how you're building these games!
- MikeTobiasCommunity Member
Trina, I was thinking the exact same thing, reminded me of Pitfall, but way cooler! :)

Hey Rais,
I was thinking of doing the same thing as your Habbo inspired game. I really like how you created your debugging UI at the bottom.

Just bumping this thread, looking forward to a little bit of an explanation on how you built this. :)

Hey Mike,
So sorry for the delays - currently swamped with work.
I am halfway prepping a more simplified story file for the main mechanics, a step-by-step, so it'll be easier to follow. If you do need a specific function and how it's done urgently, please pm me.
Thanks! - DavidIstvanCommunity Member
This is by far the best gaming interaction I've come across in SL so far
Looking forward to see how it's done!Good luck with your current project Rais!
