Articulate 360, installing apps on other drive than C?
Articulate 360, is there a possibility to install apps on other drive than C? My C drive on my MSI laptop is a small and fast ssd, not really meant to hold the bulk of my apps.
Hi Byron,
I can certainly understand that, and as such did pass along to the team. We'll keep you posted on any changes and you're always welcome to share your thoughts on this (or anything else) in the form of a feature request as well.

Cool thanks, it's not uncommon for people with gaming laptops used also for
3d and video apps to have a small ssd C: drive and a larger D drive on for
example MSI or ALien ware laptops, thanks, I will make a request.
Byron
That's just the type of intel that's good for our team to have!

I'm having the same issue.
Hello everyone!
I wanted to jump into this discussion and share that today we released Storyline 360 (Build 3.61.27106.0), which includes the option to change the installation directory of Articulate 360 and its bundled 360 desktop apps.
Now, you can choose your installation directory when manually downloading and running the EXE installer (articulate-360.exe). Just click the folder icon on the upper-right corner when the installer launches, browse to the folder where you want to install your Articulate 360 apps, then click Install Now.
All you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app! If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to contact us in this discussion or privately in a support case.

I keep getting a window that says iArticulate 360 has already been installed. Finish. I am installing in on a portable SSD so I can work off of any computer. Is this possible? Must I remove the installation on the current laptop first?
Hello Doris,
I'm happy to help! Storyline must be installed on the local computer's hard drive and use the local processor, memory, and audio/video hardware to work properly. If Storyline is already installed on the laptop, there is no need to install it again. You just need to log in with your Articulate account to work on your project files.
Please see this article for additional tips on working with your Storyline courses:
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
Hi Byron,
Articulate applications need to be installed locally with administrator privileges and then run as the end user profile on that computer, you'll find all the directions for installing Articulate 360 here. We also don't support installing it within a server environment.
I did pass this along to our team as something to consider for a feature request in the future.

yes but D is still local, you are currently forcing C drive, which is
limiting
Hi Patrick,
Are you unable to install to your C drive as well? Although this discussion is a tad older, we have yet to change the default location for installing Articulate software. We do have steps for enterprise/silent installation that would allow you to change the location, and if you'd like to work with our Support team then can provide you directions on that.

I am having the same issue as well. My c:/ is full, and there is no option to select another drive (d:/)
Hi Nathalie,
If you'd like to connect with our Support team, they can walk you through those steps I mentioned for an Enterprise install. That will help you change the file location for the install.

Yep, forced C drives is a no-no. Pity, would have been nice to trial.
Edit: bigger no-no. Software that fails to uninstall. FFS wasting my time.

It's standard now to have a small Solid state C drive and and install apps on another drive. So please tell me there is a work around as currently I have to uninstall Storyline after using it and reinstall it every-time i want to use it as there is not enough space on my C drive!

Any further comment on this? Future update coming?
Hi Kevin,
Storyline relies on accessing local directories and user profiles, so at this time there aren't plans to change where it installs by default. We'll let folks know if that changes and makes our product roadmap!
