We wanted to circle back to this discussion and verify that we are now able to download Storyline 360 to an external hard drive?
Hello everyone!
I wanted to jump into this discussion and share that today we released Storyline 360 (Build 3.61.27106.0), which includes the option to change the installation directory of Articulate 360 and its bundled 360 desktop apps.
Now, you can choose your installation directory when manually downloading and running the EXE installer (articulate-360.exe). Just click the folder icon on the upper-right corner when the installer launches, browse to the folder where you want to install your Articulate 360 apps, then click Install Now.
All you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app! If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to contact us in this discussion or privately in a support case.

I keep getting a window that says iArticulate 360 has already been installed. Finish. I am installing in on a portable SSD so I can work off of any computer. Is this possible? Must I remove the installation on the current laptop first?

Looking at the support pages, this has been an issue from March 2017 and StoryLine 2. Why has it not been resolved yet?

Is there any update on this? I am also in the same situation with a small fast SSD drive as drive C: and five other HDD drives with lots of free space - and no way to specify the installation location. How do we access the Enterprise version which allows one to specify the installation location?

So sorry to hear you're facing these crashes. That should not be happening and is an excellent opportunity for our Support team to offer a hand!
I've opened a case with them where you'll get an email from one of our skilled troubleshooters shortly!

I am having the same issue and my courses are now crashing all the time. This is super limiting. Is there any update on this issue?

I don't understand why is Storyline different to Adobe products, Affinity products and every other programme I use. I don't have a single pro app that limits me this way?
Surely this HAS to be on your roadmap?

Hi Kevin,
Storyline relies on accessing local directories and user profiles, so at this time there aren't plans to change where it installs by default. We'll let folks know if that changes and makes our product roadmap!

It's standard now to have a small Solid state C drive and and install apps on another drive. So please tell me there is a work around as currently I have to uninstall Storyline after using it and reinstall it every-time i want to use it as there is not enough space on my C drive!
