Articulate Rise Quiz with Limited Attempts
I'm working on a stand alone Articulate Rise quiz with an 80% pass percentage and a 3 attempt limit. If the user fails all three attempts, the LMS should track the quiz as not completed. In the Publishing settings, Reporting is set to 'Pass/Failed'. The LMS team tested the SCORM file and noted that if the user fails the course and they close the quiz window, the LMS captures the quiz as 'Completed'. The LMS used is SumTotal. Is there any additional setting I should check for within my Rise settings?

For quizzes, our LMS tracks two statuses that are both sent by a Rise course: a completion status and a success status.
If we applied your scenario in our LMS, a Complete status simply means that the student attempted and finished the entire quiz.
Then we also track the success status based on the score, which reflects if the student also met the passing score set in the Rise course.
So we could see any of these statuses in our LMS:
Not started: NA / NA
In progress: Completed / Failed
All course requirements met: Completed / Passed

Thanks for your response, Karl!
However, not sure if your LMS is SumTotal from your response.
In my scenario, we need to ensure that learners use their three attempts to pass the test. If they fail in the first attempt, close the quiz and see 'Completed' next to their LMS status, it may cause confusion.
I was hoping to see if there's a way for the status to be 'Incomplete' if they fail the three attempts.
For quizzes with unlimited attempts, we set the Reporting to Complete/Incomplete. For quizzes with limited attempts, I thought Passed/Failed was the right selection to achieve this. Should I look at adding an 'End screen' type of lesson that the learners would be able to view only on successful completion, so that the learners won't finish the Quiz if they fail their three attempts?
