Articulate Storyline 2 & Adobe Flash discontinuation
Hello Articulate team,
I am sorry for my sudden message to you. However, I have a question on "How the End of Flash Affects Articulate Tools and Apps" article.
Our contents published in Storyline 2 have not been worked in IE since Jan 12. They still works fine in Google Chrome. We can start playing them via Edge Chromium, however, once we push temporal stop button, we cannot start again. Flash has already been removed from Our Edge Chromium v88, though.
I see following description on the article.
Note that HTML5 output from Storyline 1, Storyline 2, and Studio ‘13 works in Google Chrome and Safari. However, it won’t work reliably in other browsers.
There is no description on Edge Chromium, though, is Edge Chromium categorized as the same as Google Chrome? Can we consider that our FLASH/HTML contents work fine both Google Chrome and Edge Chromium? Or if we would like to use our contents with Chromium Edge, do we need to republish our contents via Storyline3?

Hi Ryoko,
Edge Chromium is based on the same Chromium developed for Google Chrome, so I can understand the assumption that they'd work the same. The caveat though is that earlier Articulate apps weren't designed with Edge Chromium in mind, and therefore it's not supported. Some elements may work seamlessly, whereas other pieces don't, as you saw with your exit course behavior.
If you'd like to use Edge Chromium, I'd look at upgrading to Storyline 3 or Articulate 360 (which includes Storyline 360) to fully take advantage of support for additional browsers and the HTML5 output.

Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your reply and explanation so much. We tried to upgrade a few courses with Storyline 3 and these courses do not have tentative stop issue through both IE and Edge Chromium.

Hi there, Ryoko!
I'm sorry to hear you hit this roadblock after upgrading your courses.
Are you comfortable with sharing one of the files? It'll help me look into the behavior in Internet Explorer and Edge Chromium, and I'll delete it from my machine after.
