Audio clips (narrations) are playing on the wrong slide(s)
I've been working with this project for a while, now all of a sudden my narrations are mixed up on several slides. They are correct in the timeline but I guess Storyline is disregarding the timeline...

Has anyone been able to figure out a solution to this? I cannot for the life of me get 3 of 20 audio files to play on the correct screens. And one of the screens is playing audio that is not even in the file... Unfortunately I am unable to send the file to you to look at. Any thoughts? I may just end up rebuilding the whole thing. :(

Hi Lisa,
I'm sorry to hear you're running into this as well. Have you tried importing your project into a new file, as mentioned above? You can do this by opening a blank Storyline file, go to File->Import->Storyline.
Hopefully this helps, but if you need some additional help, our support engineers would be happy to sign an NDA to lend you a hand in troubleshooting!

Thanks! I did try that...didn't work - in fact it didn't even import anything. I tried a slew of things and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the program and it appears to have resolved itself.

Many thanks for posting your workarounds/solutions Kenneth and Lisa.
I encountered a similar issue today, in latest update of SL3, but for me the audio is OK in the timeline, but when I open it to edit from there, it plays the audio from a different slide, so I cannot make any edits as it opens the wrong file when I try!Tried Kenneths first and though the audio seems to play correctly, lots of things appear lost in the import.
Thankfully it seems Lisas suggestion, has worked!I hope this helps anyone having the same issues!

I know this is an old thread, but I am having this issue right now. All of a sudden preview and published versions are playing the wrong audio--yet the audio is fine on the timeline. I've attached my .story.
Hello Nodin!
Thank you for sharing your project! I've published the course for Review 360, and I hear the correct audio on each of the slides. Are you noticing that every audio file is misplaced in your courses? Do you mind checking the Review link to see if any of the audio is incorrect?

I was also having the same issue on my very first slide in my learning content. It is playing the Audio file from the 2nd content slide and not what is programmed to play when the first slide begins. I had an outstanding 360 Update that needed installed. I installed the update and that fixed the problem. Thanks.
That's great news, Sue! Thanks for popping in to share and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

I have been having the same issues, I tried opening the audio on the editor and saving but it did not fix it. I reloaded the previous version of Storyline from Sep 2020 and it seems to have fixed it.
Hi Steve!
I'm glad you found the fix! If you run into a similar snag, don't hesitate to reach out in a support case for quick assistance!

I am experiencing this problem too, in 2020. So, still an issue. Running v3.42.22792.0
I am finding that if I re-publish my audio file and re-add it to storyline then it corrects and plays the file it is supposed to, and then I have to re-do the closed captioning. This is a huge pain as it's happening on a very large project in which I am already past deadline. :(
I cannot share some of my file as it contains screenshots of material I am not allowed to share.
Hi Nicole!
So sorry for the frustration this must be causing! I've started a case on your behalf with our Support Engineers so we can see what the reason for this snag is. I understand that you can't share your file, which I completely understand, and so do our Support Engineers. They'll still be able to assist!

I am having this exact same problem. SL 360. Solution I've discovered is to delete the audio from rhe timeline in the affected slide and reimport it. But it's random (as others have said), so now I have to check my entire project which i thought was ready for review.
