Audio skipping during playback

I have a somewhat similar probem. I record an audio track using the record from mic feature in Storyline. The track plays normally when opened in the audio editor, but when I play it from the Timeline, to set my cue points, the sound cuts out before the track finishes playing. This does not happen everytime, but often enough to cause problems. It does not appear to matter if the audio track is in the slide base layer, or an additional layer within the slide. Any ideas as to what can be causing this?
