Audio skipping during playback

I recorded audio in Storyline via the record mic option. I made some edits in the audio editor and all tested good. When I went to preview my slide, the audio began skipping and and would get hung up. Now when I access the editor it is doing the same thing. Is the audio file now corrupt? Is there a way to fix this issue?

Thank you,

Erin

Bringing up a 6-month old thread, but I'm having this issue with Studio 360.  I created the visuals in PowerPoint then load my audio file, set my slide progressions and animations, loaded to Review. During slide progressions, the audio jumps or stops as it loads the next slide.

    Help!

  • Hey Ronald - I know you are continuing to work with our support team, but hopefully anyone in the community that has some insight to share will pop in to assist.

  • Not sure if this is applicable to anyone on this thread, but I often have this problem if my laptop isn't connected to a power source. Plugging it in seems to fix this more often than not.

Hey Meghan - thanks for that tip!

It looks like Ronald was going to circle back to his support case at some point, so if we see any helpful info there, we'll try to keep this discussion updated as well.

I have my audio and I enter the CC and everything is good. I save and close and when I come back it is skipping and choppy. Some of the audio is deleted. I fix it by using the original data from the media library but then it happens again.

    What am I not understanding?

  • Hi Josh!

Sorry to hear you are running into trouble with your audio when you revisit your project.

I have a few additional questions for you:

    • Are you working from a local hard drive? We don't recommend working with files on a network drive.
    • Is the missing and choppy audio happening with one specifics slide or every slide within your project?
    • Have you attempted to repair Storyline 360? Here are the instructions.

If you are still having trouble, we'd be happy to take a look at your file and troubleshoot with you in this thread or privately in a support case. Whatever you are most comfortable with.
