Automatic closed caption is not working with ai text to speech

Automatic closed caption is not working with ai text to speech. Generate Closed Captions in audio tools is working

I have a template audio ai audio file that I update with new text ( this ensures that the ai advanced setting do not default with each new audio generation).
I have generate captions ticked but It does nor generate. I have to go into audio tools and click generate captions each time.

I would make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of Storyline. This issue was addressed recently.

  • Hi ryanlesperance,

Sorry to hear that you've run into trouble when generating captions with AI Assistant.

We previously had this behavior logged as a bug in Storyline 360. This bug caused:

    • Captions are not generated for Text-to-Speech narration created with AI Assistant

As Ron mentioned, we've shipped a fix for this issue in Storyline 360 version 3.110.36211.0.

Please let us know if you're still experiencing this behavior after updating Storyline 360!

In response to my earlier comment today: I DID miss the most recent update that came out Feb 17/19.
I have since updated and hopefully that will solve my issue!

I am also having issues with closed captions being generated correctly.
My issue is a recent issue that has happened several times.
(I AM using the most recent update)

It seems that if I copy or duplicate a slide (or a layer), and then adjust/change the audio on that slide or layer that the closed captions don't change. The audio changes. The closed captions stay as what it was on the copied or duplicated slide/layer.

I have caught this issue on review.
The fix is to go back into each and every slide and layer to check that the closed captions are matching the text to speech. If not, I click the "generate" and then "update" and the closed captions seem to match up fine after that... BUT then it requires extra work to go back and adjust timings to the new audio.

I do have an example slide where base slide and one layer are correct, but the duplicated/additional layers are not.
