Automatically populate slide title onto the slide or menu
Is there a way to automate inserting the slide title ( slide title name) into the slide without having to retype it manually?

Noel gave a lot of good information. A slide title on the slide neeeds to be a title placeholder from the master nothing else willl work. unless you are using the menu.slideTitle variable and then it maybe you have broken the link between menu and slide title.
