Big Red X in Story View
This is happening to me and sometimes I can get around it and sometimes I can't. But it is making me crazy! I fill out the popup that asks "What I was doing at the time" but I need help. It seems to be more frequent. I have some bigger projects and maybe in a .story for several hours. Please HELP!

HI Lynda
SL uses a lot of computer resources so try closing down any apps that you don't need. Save the SL file > close > reboot and reopen SL and see if that fixes it.

I did that and this is the message I get:
The last file I saved "under another name", which I can open, has a lot of
work that needs to be done to it. It is really discouraging. I did about
4 hours of work and now I have to redo what I did this morning.*Lynda *

Sorry I can't see the image so I'm not sure what the message is...if you are replying via email, you need to click View not Reply so we can see the attachments.
Try making a copy of the file and reopening the copy. If that doesn't work, try creating a new project file and importing the slides in.
There may be a corrupt object on one of the slides but it's hard to tell. Happy to try and open if you want to upload the file.

Hi,
My solution was an odd one. On the Design Tab drop down the font options. On the very bottom, deselect Modern Text.
That fixed it for me.
Good luck!

I'm so glad it helped you!

Thanks. This allowed me to change font back to a supported one, and then I could turn Modern text back on. Often this problem occurred for me because of font preview selecting non-supported fonts as I was in process of typing in a commonly used support font like Calibri or Arial.

This works for me as well. Articulate, what's the issue with Modern Text selection causing this error?

Hi Daniel!
Sorry this affecting your project too! I'm happy to dig in. Do you see this error with a specific font? We don't have any similar bug reports where the Modern Text feature is causing signs of file corruption.
I'd love for our team to work with you 1:1 so we can understand what is happening. Here's a private upload link for you to share your story file. Our Support Engineers will take a look at your file and determine where the snag is.
I appreciate you taking the time to share this with us!
