Black Line on embedded SCORM file

Hi!

When embedding SCORM videos on an LMS platform, the following issue has been seen:

Almost all videos have a small narrow line on the side or top/bottom.

This error occurs only on this one LMS platform. On other test sites, no line can be seen.

We thought we found the bug by changing the background of the SCORM files in Articulate from black to white. We also tried the following things:

1. we put a white rectangle on the master slides that overlapped the visible area of the slide by a few pixels in each direction.
2. scaled the videos minimally larger than the screen (the visible area of the slide), so that the video protrudes 2-3 pixels from the visible area on each side.
3. fixed the size of the player to prohibit scaling of the content.

Has anyone had a similar problem before and can give any tips on what it might be, or what else can be tried? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Matija!

    Happy to help with this!

Just to clarify, when you said "On other test sites, no line can be seen"; does that mean you've already tested the course with SCORM Cloud? SCORM Cloud is an online LMS environment that can be used to determine if an issue lies with a project file or the LMS itself. If you test your course with SCORM Cloud and the behavior cannot be reproduced then your issue is likely LMS-based.

If you're comfortable sharing which LMS is being used, perhaps some members of our community would be able to offer insight or suggestions.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello, thank you for your prompt assistance. The SCORM file has been tested on SCORM Cloud, and it functions perfectly there. Regrettably, we are unable to provide access to the LMS page. Is there any insight you can offer regarding potential LMS-related issues?

      Hi Matija!

You're welcome! Thanks for the feedback!

If the file performs as intended while testing with SCORM Cloud, then your issue is LMS-based. I would suggest reaching out to your LMS administrator for assistance; they may request a debug log to help identify the problem.

I hope they can pinpoint the cause of the issue, but let me know if we can provide further support!
