Blurry Images in Preview and Published
I've noticed this for awhile, all of my images I insert into this Storyline 3 course appear quite blurry everywhere - on the Storyline development screens, when previewed and when published (either as HTML5 or Flash).
The images are all smaller than the maximum size, they are at 100% scaling, have no effects applied to them. My Publish settings is set to 100% quality. I've tried bitmaps, pngs, jpgs, all identical blurry results.
I've searched these forums and seen a couple other threads on it , but never found a solution or real explanation for it. I can't send this course over to my client - it's embarrassingly bad.

Articulate- are you guys working on this? Because it's really irritating.

Hi Tsvety, Beth, and Matt,
Thanks for popping in here to share your experiences, and I'm sorry you're running into this! Tsvety connected with our support team, and it looks like they came across a bug we have reported where:
Override of image compression on published images causes blurred or low-quality output.
If you haven't made changes to the image quality, connect with our team to take a closer look at your file and offer further guidance on what is happening behind the scenes here!
We'll be sure to reach back out in this discusssion when there's an update on a fix.

Hi Ren,
Thanks for the update, however this doesn't seem very clear. How am I supposed to proceed as I need to make changes to 2 courses and publish them tomorrow on the LMS and the images are with embarrassing quality. The export quality is set to the highest possible as it is important for us the images to be shown at the best possible quality as it's a medical course on image interpretation.

I don't know if this will help you or not - but have you tried SVG images? Storyline (still) doesn't have native support for them, but there is a way to get them into your file... in one of my previous posts on this thread I shared the workaround I used to correct blurry images.

Thank you, Aly for sharing your experience and suggestion, however it's virtually impossible for me to do this, since just 1 of my modules have 220 images - as I mentioned these are medical imaging training on image interpretation.
On a side note, I too use SVGs for another of my projects. And yes, it's very frustrating the Storyline doesn't support them natively and I have as well to import them into PowerPoint then import the PowerPoint into Storyline to get them... and there's 1other option to copy them from PowerPoint and paste them into storyline - whichever is easier for you.

My system hasn't change and my problem at times gets worse because I have images that the page is really long and it makes the image even smaller.

Something new about this problem? It's very sad, that this is still a thing :(
When it will be fixed? - MariaCSStaff
Hi, Maciej.
Thank you for reaching out!
Since this is an older discussion, can you please expand a little on what you're experiencing? If you're able to submit a .story file through a support case, we're happy to take a look!

I am having the same issue. Screenshots look blurry when I insert them into Storyline. I used the previous and latest version with no change to the quality. I have followed all the advice, but they look terrible. This needs to be fixed ASAP and it's crazy that this has been an ongoing issue.

I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling with blurry screenshots, Brandon. It was a good call to open a support case for one of our engineers to investigate this further. We'll be in touch with an update soon after reviewing the files you shared!
