I have been using Storyline for some time, recently I have started facing an issue with bold. When I preview the file or publish it, bold font does not look bold; it looks like normal font. I am not sure why this issue has been occurring. Please could you help me rectify this problem.

Hi Blesy, Are you using a particular new font with associated font weights? Are you able to use the bolded font within Word? Unless the font weight variants are available within WordPad, Notepad, Office, and so on, I would not expect to have access to them within Storyline. If you'd like to see specific support for font weights within Storyline, submit a Feature Request. I also wanted to point you to this reference article from Microsoft. If you've been using the same font all along and this is a new development, I'd begin by checking the following: Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior. You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate). Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names. Is this happening only in one file? If so, I'd try to Import the Storyline file into a new project to see if that resolves the issue If it's new and happening in all Storyline files, I'd conduct a repair of Storyline If you're still having difficulty with the bolded font after following the above, are you able to share your .story file here? If you'd prefer you can also send it along here.

I have been using Myriad Pro font in the course; it seems to be working fine in Word and in my previous courses. I tried the 'repair Storyline' option, but it doesn't seem to have had any effect. I won't be able to send across the file to you, but please let me know if there is any possible solution to it that I could do at my end.

Hi Blesy, Have you used the Myriad Pro font on other Storyline courses without a problem? What update of Storyline are you using? If not the whole file, can you share a sample slide with that font?

Hello, I too am having some font issues - I have used the Myriad Pro font weight 49, It is applied to the title with the first word made bold and second word normal. However, the published output and preview both words look normal. Pls help. Thanks Sajna

Hi Sajna! This thread is a bit dated, so I'd like to know which version and update of Storyline you are utilizing. If you have a .story file that I could take a look at that would be helpful as well.

Hi Birgitte,

Sorry to hear that you ran into a similar issue. Some of the fonts that were reported by users here were affected by a known issue in Storyline 360 that causes the fonts to not display bold formatting properly.

Since you mentioned that your colleague was able to properly preview the font, there's a chance that you may not be affected by this bug. To test, would you be willing to upload a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a look? We'll delete it as soon as we're done troubleshooting.

One troubleshooting step that you can try while we're testing your project file is to do a repair of your Storyline 360 installation using the steps outlined here. Let us know if this works for you!

Unfortunately the steps to repair did not work.

I have uploaded a file, but the problem is with Storyline in general, so I think something is stuck in the cache folder. On my old laptop I also experienced quite a few problems with Storyline and some of them I could solve by emtying the cache folder. However, I cannot remember where it is. I have looked thru Roaming and not found what I was looking for. The one I remember had heaps of files for all my SL-projects and I simply deleted them.

This problem only started recently. I did try to convert to an earlier version, but that did not solve it though.

  Sometimes you have to look a different direction. The font was the problem. Somehow it got currupted recently by .. something!? I could see Raleway Bold in preview, so suddenly realized it was the font itself that caused the problem.
  
  I uninstalled the font, rebooted and reinstalled and voila...fixed! :-)
  
  Now I can see bold face preview!

Im having a similar issue with Montserrat, Ive reinstalled it a couple of times. Shows fine in editor but not in preview or published.

Hi Jiayu,

So sorry to hear you're running into this issue as well.

Have you tried uninstalling, rebooting, and re-installing the font? That seems to have helped others in this thread.

  Hi Piazza, I've solved this problem with Dominik's solution. It seems that there are variables and static versions. And one should go for the static versions to have the bold texts shown properly.

Hello All!

I have great news to share! We are no longer seeing issues with the Inter Font with Bold Formatting appearing without bold style in Preview and Publish Mode.

To make sure your software is up-to-date, please launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and select the Update button next to Storyline 360. I've included our step-by-step instructions here!
