Branching feedback from graded questions...

Hi all,

I am looking for a workflow or tutorial on branching feedback slides from graded questions without the default "correct/incorrect" pop-outs.

I would like to be able to ask a question and branch to the appropriate slide and record the answer to extrapolate the data after.

For example:

1. Do you know how to restart your tablet?

a) Yes - branches to a slide that says "great, restarting your tablet helps blah blah" then continues to question 2.

b) No - branches to a slide "No problem! To restart your tablet simply select blah blah" then continues to question 2.

The main idea is to record the data yes/no answers, offers branching education while not saying they are right or wrong or by using the default pop-out answer.

Any advice is appreciated!

  • If you want to track anything that happens on a different slide you must set/adjust a variable.

    1. Have different layers or slides for each feedback.

    2. Each feedback slide/layer should be pertinent to user choice.  You may need lots of these.

    3. update the Main question slide/layer.  Have the states of the objects that the user would select from update to track the user's response.

Note this can be rather complex if you want multiple responses rather than a simple multiple choice.

Keep the order of the stack in mind if you use layers (last trigger to show layer will be the one on top).

I used change state triggers rather that question variables because my responses were short enough to fit in a single layer, and I wanted multiple layer popups.

      Thank you!

I am not looking to track anything beyond the yes/no.

Is there a way to get rid of the "X" that appears in the default response slide?

  • Yes.  You will need to change the feedback templates.

    View> Feedback Master

Then change the feedback template (as you would any other slide).
This will change all the slides that use the template.
