Stop audio on layer when changing slides...
This should be simple?!
I have slide01 and slide02. There is audio on slide01 and two layers, each with different audio, on slide02. If the user is on slide02 base layer and clicks PREVIOUS, the audio for slide02 stops, the user is taken to slide01, and slide01 audio plays. However, if the user is on a layer on slide02 and clicks PREVIOUS, the audio on the slide02 layer AND audio from slide01 play simultaneously.
I tried adding a trigger in the layer to stop the audio when the user clicks PREVIOUS, but PREVIOUS is on the base layer, so I can't add a trigger on the layer. And I tried adding a trigger turning off all audio on PREVIOUS on the base layer, but only the audio from that base layer is available to stop, not the audio from the layer.
This has to be simple! What am I missing??

Hi Carrie, I don't think you are missing anything. Default (no customization added) should be straightforward - no triggers needed to stop audio playing on last slide viewed when a different slide is being viewed/played, regardless of the path to get there (base, layer, interaction...). I am wondering if it could be a bug. I have seen a few posts recently with similar issue.
Suggestions:- Check you have the latest version of SL, bugs were ironed out with the latest version
- Upload your story file here for troubleshooting
- Open a support ticket

I have the exact same issue, and I did the same thing (reset to initial state) to move on. The problem is my "Next" button gets enabled only when the 3 objects are clicked and change state to visited. So now the User is just forced to wait till the Next button is enabled.
I also tried setting a variable (T/F) for the slide but that didn't work too. There must be another way to do this. Can you help?
P.S. I have the latest version and can't upload the file as it is company property.
Hello priyshak,
Thanks for reaching out! I appreciate you confirming that you're working with the latest version of Storyline 360 (Update 98).
- Have you tried importing your slides into a new project file and testing the Next button functionality? Sometimes that can fix some erratic behavior!
- Is this happening with any other files or just this one?
- If you're seeing this across multiple files, we recommend conducting a repair of Storyline 360 in some instances.
I understand you aren't able to share the file in this thread. Could you share a screen recording of this behavior and your project file privately so we can investigate this further? We'd be happy to continue the conversation within a support case. Our team can sign an NDA if privacy is a concern.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks, Ange! I installed the updated version, but that didn't help. And then I changed those layers to 'reset to initial state' and that seems to have fixed it. I have to admit I'm not exactly sure why, but at this point I'm just happy to be able to move on!!
