Can I create a software simulation in Storyline from a pre-existing mp4 video/screencast?

Happy Friday!!

My team is working to create a software training library for our clients, and we have some videos already available. I know Storyline has screencast-to-simulation features, however we'd like to move the initial development process along quickly for feedback purposes.

Is it possible to create an interactive software simulation in Storyline using the video files? For example, import the video into a Storyline scene and apply the simulation features (Try mode steps)?

Thanks folks!!

  • You would have to chop the videos up and build the slides manually using a combination of videos and freeze frames.

  • Thanks for the quick response! That's what I figured, but just wanted to see if I was missing any of Storyline's features. Our software is getting revamped in the next year, so we're just reusing the videos to not waste too much time with building if the trainings need to be scrapped. Thank you again!!
