Can you add a layer to a Feedback Master?

I may be missing something here.  In design view I can add layers to the Feedback Master slide and to the layouts.

But I don't see anything in preview after I add this to a slide as a layer (with the format selected).

1.  Can you in fact add useable layers to a feedback master?

2.  If so - where can I find details about how this works.

Thanks

Jay

  • By feedback master slide, do you mean Result slide? Feedback "slides" are actually layers themselves, so a layer can't be added to them.

You can add layouts to Feedback masters, then when you create a new layer, or edit a built-in layout, choose a different layout.

Your best resource is the User Manual:  https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360

This entry might be particularly helpful:

  • Hi - Thanks for the quick reply.  Not looking at the "Results" slide.

What I am trying to do is create master "layouts" for various layers that I am using through out a software simulation.  Variable data will sit "on top" of the simulated application forms.

What confused me was that you can actually add a layer to a feedback master slide or  layout.  They just don't seem to do anything, which is fine.  Just wanted to double check.

  • If you are running a simulation, and want something to appear over it, it sounds to me like you want to use just a regular, blank layer, without worrying about adding layers to masters. You can add a layer to a master (your use of "Feedback Master slide" is confusing one or both of us), but you can't edit it.

Attach your .story file here, and someone can give you some suggestions.

  • Hi -

Thanks - I think I'm good.  I agree the term "Feedback Master" is unfortunate, but it is the only "master slide" that I know of that can be used to create layouts for layers.
