When I import a gif I see it play even when I'm in edit mode so you shouldn't need to preview/publish to view it. Thanks.

I was able to to this using the social media link from giphy.com
- Grab social link from Giphy
- Insert Multimedia>embed option
- Paste social link
That's it! Worked like a charm!

Hi Kath,
I just tried uploading your gif to a Rise course as a cover image and it worked! Can you try uploading it again?
If it's still not working for you, I would submit a case here so our Support Team can have a look and see why it's not working on your end.

Hi,
I realised what the problem was - my default browser (set by work) had opened Rise in IE.
I should have updated the post - sorry.

Hello!
I'm struggling to get my GIF to play in a process block, anyone else had trouble with this?
Thanks
Whitney
Hi Whitney!
A GIF should play correctly in a Process block – can you try deleting the GIF and adding it back in?
If you're still having trouble, share the GIF with us here, and we'll test it on our side!

Hi all,
Is there a way of inserting a Gif in Rise without the URL showing up in the preview?
Hi Marian!
Which block type did you use to insert the GIF into your lesson? I recommend using an image block, because you can upload a GIF file anywhere an image can be uploaded!

Thanks so much for your response.
I have been using the text block as I have content to be seen with the giph or image. If I use the image block then I cannot add content for the training.
I can upload the giphe from the internet no problem but the URL description is showing.

Hi Marian!
It sounds like you're trying to insert a GIF file inside a text block. Text blocks only accept text, so you'll want to use an Image & Text block to combine GIFs and text.

Will do.

Hi Allison,
Amazing work! I have not seen this info anywhere in the thread, so sorry if I missed it. I was wondering if you could share exactly how you created these animated gifs with planets in Storyline? I am very keen to learn what you did to make those animations so smooth!
Many thanks,
Veronika
