Captions for an audio file in Rise?
I'm probably being dense an not seeing it. How do I add closed captions to an audio block in Rise? I see the (+ Add a caption), but don't see a spot to add close captions or import srt/vtt files.

We are a company that advertises WCAG AAA compliance in all of our eLearning courses. Please add us to the list of folks requesting support for audio CC functionality. It is needed anywhere audio can be included.
Any update on whether this can happen and what a potential timeline might be?Thanks!
Hello DrSusieDish,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
While I don’t have a timeline to share for closed captioning in Rise 360 audio just yet, I’ve added your feedback to our existing feature request. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
In the meantime, you might be interested to know that we’re exploring a related feature for audio transcription in Rise. It’s currently on our roadmap.
Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have more questions or ideas. We always appreciate hearing from you!

Hi, Eric! Do you have any idea when this feature will be available, even if it's a rough estimate?

Please add my name to this feature request as well. I use Moodle a lot and the default audio player can support closed captions, it basically puts it into a video container but it's still very useful! Many podcast players now also support captions.
Thank you

I've gone ahead and shared your insight with our product team. We'll be sure to update this thread in the future with any news and updates so that all are in the loop!

I would like to add my voice to requesting this feature as well. I could have really used it for a current project. I'm going to try Kathryn's approach.

We would like to amplify this request for CC within audio blocks as accessibility is a must. Thank you for engaging in this thread.

I want to add my vote here for CC's on the Audio feature in Rise 360. It is a compliance issue for our agency as people who use readers cannot get anything from our audio transcripts. Thank you for your attention to this.

We used audio blocks in a recent project, so please add our +1 (or +8 if I'm speaking for the whole team 😉) to the request to add captions to audio blocks in Rise 360. Even without a captioning feature we were able to meet the standard to provide captions for prerecorded audio content in two ways:
- By including the audio transcript as text on the page, in paragraph blocks. This worked well for shorter audio files and gave learners the option to read instead of listen.
- By including the audio transcript as a downloadable pdf immediately below the audio block.

Hi. Is there any update on CC for audio files? We'd greatly benefit from this, many thanks.
Hi Mike!
Thanks for checking in on this!
I don't have any updates to share at this time, but I've included your voice in the feature report. We'll update this discussion if it makes it to our Feature Roadmap.

I would like to add my vote to wanting to be able to add closed captioning to audio files in Rise. It just makes sense to have CC available for both video and audio blocks. Thanks!
Hi Beth,
Thanks for sharing what you'd like to see in Rise 360! I've shared your feedback with my team.

I am needing to add close captioning to videos in Rise. I have them in Storyline but accessibility features in Rise are lacking. This thread was started over a year ago; is there any timeline on when close captions for audio and video will be added?
Hi Diane,
Thanks so much for reaching out. Currently, you can add closed captions to videos in Rise 360. We're still tracking the request to add captions to audio files, so I've shared your comments with our developers. We'll update this discussion as soon as we have news to share!
