Captions for Publishing a Course to a Video File
Thank you for the new option to publish storyline course directly to video. This is very helpful.
Is there a way to export one caption file for all slides in the Storyline file? I see an export option for individual slides, but not the entire project.
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 73, we’ve included important fixes and new features!
One new feature we’ve included:
Boost video accessibility by including closed captions when publishing projects as MP4 video files.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!

Thanks for the reply, Katie.
Honestly, it's quite shocking that this isn't seen as an essential accessibility component. When we create an eLearning course with Storyline, we spend a lot of time syncing captions to the narration. But all those captions we spend hours on are completely unusable when exporting as a video, so we have to figure out a workaround in a different program.Katie, how many "votes" do the Articulate decision-makers need to be convinced of this necessity?

This is absolutely an essential component. I'd like to cast as many votes as possible!

This is an absolute MUST HAVE feature... for SL 360 to enable a publish to Video that INCLUDES the CC text. It's a big dismay that it is not a built-in feature and will cost us lots of time and money to ensure the course CC text is translated and available in a video format. Please PLEASE add this feature to SL 360 software. It is also a necessity in an accessibility-friendly world.

Agreed! I also would like to see the ability to export the full course's captioning in one file (right now you need to do it audio clip by audio clip. I want to be able to adjust the font/font size of the captions because if the course is at a high resolution, the captions are very small. Finally I want to be able to spellcheck the captions. Right now I do that in Word before I copy/paste them in,

This isn't very accommodating to our ADA customers...

I am commenting just to add another vote toward the need for captions on mp4 exports.

They won't add it. People have been asking for this for years. Its not even on their list.

I'd like the ability to export all of the course's captions in one file as a way to proofread, check spelling, typos, consistency, and so forth. If I'm missing the way to do this then I apologize, but this strikes me as a very basic feature that should have been included in Storyline long ago.

This is absolutely essential. Please, Articulate?

Ya it is really surprising to me that this isn't higher on your list of things to do. At least let us export/save the captions file.

Publishing as a video with closed captions is an essential feature/need. Please include this in a future update, as well as the ability to export the entire caption file.

Has this been added yet? I agree- the need to include captions when exporting to a video is extremely important. I am currently using the free trial and testing accessibility. I will be unable to approve the purchase of this program if there is not a way to include captions on the entire video. How else are these presentations saved- when do the captions convert?
Hi there, Sara!
We're actively tracking requests to include closed captions for exported video files, so I'll share your post with my team. Here's a glimpse into how we manage feature ideas.
