Change timeline from seconds to minutes?

So, I'm doing a lot of audio sync. I'm listening to the wav in Media Player, and I want i.e. an arrow to appear at 3:48. Is there a way to set the main timeline to display minutes and seconds, not only seconds? That way I don't have to calculate 180+48= 228 seconds. ALL other audio/video editors etc can change display from minutes, seconds, frames etc... Some can even show multiple time stamps. Ironically, if I open the audio file for edit, that editor displays minutes/seconds.

If this is not possible at present, it should be an easy fix for an upcoming upgrade.

Sigurd.

      Hi Eric,

That is helpful as a work around, but shouldn't the triggers have been adapted to the new minute-second format? It seems like this was missed in the update that brought this new time format for the timeline. There is now a mismatch in the formats between the triggers and timeline. Either the triggers should match the minute-second format, or we should still have the ability to see the timeline in seconds.

  • I agree with you, Andrew! It would be nice if there were an option to display the timeline in seconds for those working with triggers. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!

I have passed this suggestion on to our product team. We'll be sure to update this thread if any adjustments are made to this feature in the future.

Wouldn't it make more sense to add support for minutes and seconds to triggers?

  • Hello everyone!

Good news! Today, we just released Storyline 360 Update 74 (Build 3.74.30180.0) which includes a new feature to easily create time-based triggers in minutes and seconds.

Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!

If you have additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out in this discussion or in a support case.

Hi there, I'm still facing this issue. Timeline still shows seconds and not minutes. Can anyone do something about this issue?

  • Hi Apoorva,

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're having problems with the timeline. What you're seeing may be something expected, as the timeline will only display minutes-seconds if your timeline is at least a minute long. This is what I see on my end:

I attached the sample Storyline project used in that screenshot so you may test on your end. Do you see the same thing? If not, and you're working on your local drive, try running these steps to fix possible installation issues.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
