Changing the colour of the closed captions and its background ?
Hello,
I added captions to my project in storyline 360 and it is shown in white color on a black background. Since it does not match my project color scheme, I am wondering if there is a way to change it easily. I do not know how work with javascript so is there easier options?
Thanks

In my experience with accessibility, CC's should always be white on black. This is for commonality with 99.9% of the CC that already exists and is in use around the world. It also adds very distinct contrast for those who might have both vision and hearing issues. The white/black combo is the best color combo for viewing even in bright sun. The option for sizing could be looked at, and is one aspect that is in use in several areas (newer TVs for example.) But playing around with the color to match a theme, isn't something the end user who NEEDS to use the CC option would be happy with.

IMO if you are already working on a course that has white text on a dark background, the captions don't stand out enough against that. We need to be able to customize this. Hoping to eventually get this as a feature.

I'm so sad that every time I search for help with a topic, the answer is always, "We don't have that feature yet, but you can submit a feature request."
I have no issue with the color of the CC, but the size is overwhelming on my videos. I'd like to be able to make the ribbon of CC smaller.- JohnWylieCommunity Member
You can only reduce the Captions font to 75% , but you can increase it to 200% ( Player - Colors & Effects - Captions font. I also keep hoping for more options on Closed Captioning colors and sizes.

Another vote for an update to captions to enable edits to size, font and backgrounds please. Having to import from elsewhere is time consuming.

Is there any update on the feature request to change the colors of the Closed Caption (both the letters and the background)? This request seems to be 4 yrs old, would expect this to be a built-in-feature by now.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for checking in on this! Currently, I don't have an update on the request to change the colors of closed captions. We'll be sure to update this discussion if this feature makes it to our feature roadmap. If you need assistance with your project in the meantime, please feel free to reach out here or privately in a support case!

Hi all.
Please can I make a strong request for this functionality to be implemented as soon as possible. As Chris said, this feature has been long awaited, and I can say that my team and I would have seen enormous benefits having this feature.
Sometimes, the default white font/black background does not work well at all, and I have to add manual CC entries to each slide using triggers and variables to allow me to use a better font/background colour (and sometimes partial transparency) for subtitles. Creating custom CC entries is extremely tedious and time consuming.
I do hope this feature can be implemented and offered to us soon.
Thanks in advance.

It's been 5 years since this was first suggested as an enhancement. It does seem a rather simple thing to add. Any updates from Articulate?
