Characters in bad resolution
I never had problem cropping the characters before. However, recently I updated my Storyline and when I crop a character it gets blurry in the preview version and in the browser. Then, I need to save the character as an image to be able to crop, and keep the good resolution. This is a lot of unnecessary steps... Is anyone else having this issue? (please see attached).
Hello everyone, thank you for your patience. Some good news, we just released Update 80 which addresses the quality issue in cropped characters. Follow the steps in this article to install this update.
Thank you,

This has been a known issue for almost a year already...totally unacceptable to still not be resolved.
Cropping characters is a BASIC function...to have the result be unusable blurry images...and for Articulate staff to be giving workarounds using competing software is quite ridiculous.
We pay A LOT of money for this software...this needs resolved ASAP...before rolling out new and unnecessary new features.

I have had the same issue when cropping characters, and had to save out or do a print screen and save the cropped image as I wanted. Maybe there is a trick that I don't know about.

Great! Thanks.

John, any workaround tips from Articulate? I've tried various export options and everything is blurry.

I am also having the same problem. I just need the head shot of a character on the phone, but when I crop it the picture is so blurry in preview and published version that it is unusable. Please can we get this fixed.

Best work-around so far is to crop to what you need, then export pose as .png. Still noticeably blurry, but not as blurry.

Oh thank goodness. I thought I was going crazy. I've been having the same issue.

Hi Jennifer,
I'm sorry you're seeing those blurry characters! There aren't any official workarounds from Articulate but I would try to sharpen the character in Photoshop or a similar app after cropping and exporting from Storyline 360.
I hope this helps!

I found a work around for this:
1) Right click the character and select "Export Pose"
2) Choose "Export Original Pose" and save the character as an .emf file
3) Open the .emf file in Adobe Illustrator (I assume any other vector image editor will work, illustrator is just what I have)
4) Crop the character in Illustrator and save as an .svg file
5) Insert the .svg file into storyline
Now you can change the size of your cropped character as much as you want and it will keep the same clarity as the original.
I hope this helps!

Same here. Blurry when cropped. Thanks
