Closed Captions in Rise on by default
LeaSAgatoI've seen many posts on this relatively straightforward issue.
Is there a chance to just get this actioned? From my limited knowledge of programming, this can't be more than a single dev for an hour or two to enable?
Hi ChrisWest-cbeef!
Thanks for the feedback!
I don't have any updates to share at this time as our product team prioritizes other features. However, I can confirm this is one of our top features requested by users. I've included your voice in the request! We'll be sure to update you if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.
In the meantime, here's a deeper look at how we manage feature requests.

I'd like to add my voice to this StevenBenassi.
We have to rely on burning captions into videos when we use Rise for a few reasons:
- Need to use Storyline to convert SRT files in VTT.
- Learners need to manually turn on captions.
Burning captions into a video still leaves one issue:
- Rise player controls always overlap the video, hiding any captions burned into the video.
So we need to either place captions at the top of a video or leave a pause at the start of all videos long enough for the player controls to disappear.

Hello ChrisReynolds-b,
Thanks for adding your voice here!
I’ve noted your feedback with our team about having captions display by default in Rise, as well as your point about player controls overlapping burned-in captions. Both make a strong case for improving how captions work in videos, and your input helps us keep this need visible.
We’ll let you know if this feature gets added in a future update.

It would be great to have captions displayed for videos, similar to the Audio block:
You can simply open the Transcript and read it! Would this not be a quick work around for the Articulate programmers?
