Course Completed Issues reporting to LMS

Hi, I'm having problems with some reports in our LMS (Totara) not showing the SCO Status and SCO Total Time for some of our Articulate 360 courses we have published.  The settings we use in Articulate are SCORM 2004 4th Edition (because our courses are large), we select Complete/Incomplete and we have a Complete Trigger on our last slide for when the user clicks the Exit Course button.  Some of our eLearnings show as completed on our reports, however some don't, and they are all set up the same.  Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be, it's driving us mad!

Any help much appreciated.

Sarah

  • Hi Sarah!

It sounds like you were running into some issues getting your Storyline 360 completion statuses to report consistently to your LMS. I'd be happy to help you with this!

As an initial troubleshooting step, we would suggest testing your course(s) on SCORM Cloud. It is an online LMS environment that can be used to determine whether the issue lies with the LMS or the Story files themselves. If you test the courses with SCORM Cloud and they work perfectly, then your issue is likely LMS-based.

Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions!

  • Moodle doesn't fully support scorm 2004 you can override scorm 1.2 settings to allow a larger resume data in the scorm module settings. Suspect your issue will be that 2004 is not compliant in Moodle.

Hi Phil, I wasn't aware that Totara (Moodle) doesn't fully support SCORM 2004, as some of our eLearnings work and report ok.  Would you be able to tell me how to override the 1.2 settings to allow for the larger resume issue please, then I can try that as a possible solution.

    Many thanks for your help.

  • Most courses work fine but it is not compliant and the module is not actively developed. Long time since I did this try admin > plugins > activities > SCORM called "SCORM 1.2 standards mode

Thank you, that's great.  We'll try using SCORM 1.2 and changing that setting and see what happens, fingers crossed.
