Different notes for different layers
I have a feeling there is not currently a way to do this, but is there a way to display different notes for different layers of a slide in the player?

Unfortunately there is not a way to do this, as the notes belong to the slide as a whole, and the layers are a part of the slide. You're welcome to share your thoughts in the form of a feature request though!
