Display screen rotation in mobile mode

Hello friends, I hope you have a good day. Recently, I encountered a responsive problem in mobile devices. I want the screen rotation message to be displayed when users are using mobile. Of course, I know that there is such a thing in the program, but it does not work during the test 1- Please help me to solve this issue 2- If this case can be solved, can a custom message and icon be considered? Finally, thank you and your good team

  • Hi Sepehr,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Would you mind sharing a screenshot or an example of the 'screen rotation message' that you'd like to see in your courses so we can check out the behavior? Feel free to share the screenshots here, or in private by opening a support case and we'll get back to you soon.

  • Hi Joe Tansengco,

    thanks for the reply
Yes, of course, I will send you the relevant photos so that you can understand which part is in question
Also, if I want to explain more, this part which is clear in the photo, unfortunately does not work. I change the page to mobile mode from Chrome browser, but no message is displayed at all

    • Now I don't know how to test this item or does it work at all?
  • The next problem is that this rotation of the page is not considered responsive
Although this storyline is excellent, but in the responsive section for mobile pages, it only considers rotation, and this sometimes does not meet the needs.

  • Hi Sepehr,

Thanks for the additional information. Based on the screenshot, it looks like you are asking about a message to remind your learners to rotate their phones to 'Landscape' orientation in order to properly view your course.

Would you be willing to upload a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a case so I can try to replicate the behavior on my end and figure out what's happening? Please include where you are currently hosting your course, as this feature doesn't work when your course is published to Review 360.

    Looking forward to your response!

  • Hi Joe

Due to the contract I signed, I cannot publish the project anywhere.
And I am very sorry for that
But you understood the issue correctly. Unfortunately, this item (message to remind your learners to rotate their phones to 'Landscape' orientation) does not work for me, and how do I check this item?
The next issue is it possible to change this message to the desired one?

  • Hi Sepehr,

    Thanks for the additional detail!

    • I'd like to confirm what you're seeing when you preview your course, select Landscape Only for phones, then select Phone Portrait view. Do you see the "Please rotate your device" screen or something else?
    • Have you tried creating a brand new file to see if the issue still occurs?

To answer your question about changing the playback message, you can edit this by following these steps:

    1. Select Player, then Text Labels
    2. Scroll down to Buttons/Messages 120 and edit the Custom Text to your desired message

Please let me know if you have additional questions. I hope this helps!

  • Hi kelly ,

Thank you and your very strong team, your answers were very accurate. This behavior of yours created a positive experience in my mind and I appreciate you and the time you gave.

    Let's go to the problem:
The original problem was solved very well. But my question is, has Storyline considered only rotation for responsiveness on the mobile screen?

  • Hi, Sepehr!

Thank you for the wonderful compliment about our team!

I have a couple of questions to help clarify which feature you are looking for. Do you want to be able to rotate a course in the middle of viewing it? Would that be considered responsive rotation?

In the meantime, here is an article about our responsive player's features. Maybe that will give you some of the information you're looking for.

    Looking forward to your response!
