dissolving layers or objects on layers when close button is used
- 6 months ago
Hi,
just a bit different from Steve without duplicating the layer;
you could add the exit animation to the elements, make them quite short and "pause the timeline" at a cue point, and when you click the close button resume the timeline... for sure the att example will be clearer than my explanation, hope it helps.
I’d suggest grouping the objects you want to fade out and fly out before the layer is closed. Then, create a motion path animation for the group that’s triggered when the close button is clicked. Finally, hide the layer once the animation completes.

That would be how I would typically do it as well, Nedim. To be consistent with the original entrance animations, however, in my example I retained the fade for the exit animation of the image and text and fly out for the panel.

That’s the beauty of Storyline — there are often multiple ways to achieve the same result. My intention was simply to offer an alternative approach, and I definitely learned something new from your solution as well. If I were Nathalie, I’d feel confident going with either of the options shared in this thread.
