Drag and Drop - Putting steps in order

Hi, I am trying to create a drag and drop where the learner needs to put the steps in order. The steps are randomly placed into an order and the learner will read the statements and drag them into the correct order, however when an object (Text box) is dropped into a drop zone I would like the object that is currently sat in that drop zone to move to an available drop zone so that the text is legible and the learner can easily move the object (Text box) where they think it belongs. Is this possible?

  • Hi CraigMaloney,

    Happy to help!

If you enabled the option to Allow only one item in each drop target, dropping an item on a target will return one of the items to it's starting position. The existing item won't move to an available drop zone automatically. I'll share this request with our product team!

One Idea is to use a Sequence Drag-and-Drop question (Select Slides > Graded Question > Sequence Drag-and-Drop). Set the Shuffle option to Answers so the starting order is randomized. As a learner moves an answer's order, the existing answer will move to another spot. Here's a quick sample I created using a sequence drag-and-drop.

Please let me know if this helps!

      Hi KellyAuner,

This was exactly the solution I was after so thank you for your help.

One thing that would be great to request is the ability to customise the sequence drag and drop as it currently doesn't fit with the theme of the course. As an example having the ability to customise the state when selecting an option so that it's not the standard blue colour, or changing the fill colour on the background of the drag object etc.
