Drag-and-Drop, States and Triggers

Published: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/7826649c-c57a-4eeb-bf29-7053cee9acb0/review

I have the 5 Text (the first text block under the Basic Fear heading)  set up to go bold when any of the Drag objects (5, 6, 7) are dragged over the 5 Hotspot.

Question #1 - most important: Ultimately what I want is when 5, 6, or 7 are dragged over any of the Drop spots, make that Drop spot’s corresponding text bold. And  for that text to go back to Normal state when the object is no longer dragged over it.  In other words, I want the dragged objects to be like a hover action.  (Currently, it’s the fact that the bold doesn’t unbold that’s making me think I need to abandon this dream.) I suppose I could do all kinds of overlapping hotspots, but this sounds… difficult, and I have only a few days left on my free trial.

Question #2:  I have triggers set to change the text to glow (State=correct) when the correct drop occurs. If the user changes their mind and drags out of the Drop, the glow stays. Is there a way to set that text object back to a Normal state if they move the correct Drag from the Drop?

Question #3 (least important): And while I’m here, is there a way to have Drag objects return to the place they started (when dropped anywhere but a target) AND have their state return to Normal?

I’ve attached my file.  Please note that I currently have only the 5 Text with a bold "correct” State and triggers it for all three Drag objects.

Thanks All!  Also, any feedback is welcome.

  • Hi Jen. Attached is my attempt to answer your three questions. I do have to ask: If the intent is to have the learner receive feedback after clicking the Submit button, is there a need for the immediate feedback with the "glow" color change?

    All the best,

    Daniel
