Hi everyone, My organization is implementing the Success Factors LMS. I have created courses in Storyline 3. When we try to publish the courses to the LMS we get the following message: The parser could not validate the SCORM Import file due to the following reason(s). Proceeding with the import may incompletely import the file, or the file itself may be corrupt. You may choose to continue with the import at your own risk. Error on line 2: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'manifest'. Not sure if I am posting this in correct group. Can anyone help?

I experienced the same problem as Tamara yesterday and received the below error when trying to upload a Scorm 2004 4th edition content package to a Successfactors LMS item. A SCORM 2004 content package contains sequencing and navigation rules. It cannot be added to the item as the item can only contain one set of sequencing and navigation rules. I had already updated the manifest to hide the navigation and have been using this method for some time now without any issues. After doing some testing today I discovered that when an item in the SF LMS is revised so new content can be added it is important not to leave the checkbox alongside the question below checked. By default it's checked and then the old content package can be removed / replaced. If this box is unchecked when the revision is made then no Scorm 2004 error appears when uploading a new content package. Perhaps there is a underlying connection that is no longer removed which stops a new content package being uploaded. This item has online settings. Do you wish to include the online settings in the new revision of this item?

Are you able to recreate this error if you upload the file to SCORM Cloud or is the issue limited to your LMS? Be sure that you are zipping the content from the Publish Successful window prior to uploading. I've also seen a previous conversation here that may offer some helpful tips for your environment.

Hi Leslie, Our LMS admin did run it through SCORM Cloud and it worked fine. The problem seems to be specifically with our LMS. I’ll check that thread. Thanks Tom

Has anyone been able to come up with a true solution to this? We have a client who uses Success Factors and we have published in 2004 2nd edition and 4th edition. They are receiving the same errors as mentioned above and a new one "SCORM 2004 content package contains sequencing and navigation rules. It cannot be added to the item as the item can only contain one set of sequencing and navigation rules." Has it been determined what version of SCORM works best with Success Factors? I checked the other threads and their solutions have not worked :(

Hey there, Tara! While I don't have much experience with Success Factors, I'm happy to rule out any issues on Storyline's end that could be causing those errors. First, what version of Storyline are you using? If Storyline 360: We fixed an issue in Update 30 where the imsmanifest.xml file in the SCORM 2004 output had an HTML-encoded line feed character—&#xA;—that caused an error (like the 'The parser could not validate' one) in some LMSs. If Storyline 3: You can fix this by manually editing the imsmanifest.xml file and replacing the &#xA; character with a line feed. I haven't seen the other error before, though. Have you had a chance to connect with the LMS team for their insight? With your permission, we'd love to help test in another LMS environment like SCORM Cloud. Just give us a shout; we'll be right here!

Are you able to recreate this error if you upload the file to SCORM Cloud or is the issue limited to your LMS?

Be sure that you are zipping the content from the Publish Successful window prior to uploading.

I've also seen a previous conversation here that may offer some helpful tips for your environment.

This happens with Quizmaker 360, too, current version as of today.

I'm unable to recreate the 
 issue in a test Quizmaker 360 (Build 5.24.20480.0) LMS package–here's a short recording of my test–so I'll need your help.

Are you comfortable with sharing your .quiz file for testing? That way, I can publish the course on my end and verify whether that bug is affecting your file. You can share it publicly here or privately by using this upload link. I'll delete it after taking a thorough look!

Can someone please take a look at this file and let me know if this is a problem? I'm getting from Success Factors

"A scorm 2004 content package contains sequencing and navigation rules. it cannot be added tot he item as the item can only contain one set of sequencing and navigation rules"

I've looked through the IMS manifest file and don't see these rules.

I can see that you contacted us on a similar conversation thread here as well.

I was able to publish the .zip file you shared here and it works as expected, so the issue must be specific to your LMS, but we are investigating the issue.

  We have two other files that are published EXACTLY THE SAME and we are not getting these. It has to be something with the manifest file.

I'm not seeing "
" in the OQST10059G0V3.zip's imsmanifest.xml file, which could cause the error you see.

Have you had a chance to touch base with Sucess Factors to let them know about this, and that the content uploads correctly in SCORM Cloud?

They may be able to shed light on what is happening in the LMS. If they're able to give you helpful insight that points to an issue with our output, please let us know!
