Error with large mp4 video upload in Storyline

Hi!

I've been asked to make a storyline with a video that we are going to upload as a scorm to our LMS. The video is a 16 GB mp4 video, and when trying to upload it to Storyline I got an error note saying that it "does not appear to be a supported video format. Please select a video from one of the supported formats". I know that mp4 is a supported format, as i have uploaded a video in that format previously, but much smaller.. I also tried splitting the video i two, and then upload the first part in mp4 format, now 8 GB, but got the same error.

So I was wondering if there is a limit for how long a video can be before uploading it? Is there a limit for how big the file can be? Or is there another format that is better to use? What limits are there in Atricualte Storyline when it comes to video uploads?

Hope to get a clear answer.

Thanks,

Emma

  • Hello Emma!

We don't put any limits on videos in Storyline (besides the file formats that we support).

An error might appear if you're importing a video from a network or shared drive rather than from a local drive. Have you tried moving the video to your hard drive and then importing it into Storyline?

      Hi Lauren,
I've experienced the same issue above. And I've loaded the video from my dasktop (and not from a cloud). I've also tried to load the video to the Media library, and it didn't work.

Here is the error massage I'm receiving:

    Hi!

Yes, I did that, and it still did not work. But we solved the issue by inserting the video as a web object, and copy the link from Vimeo!
