Experiencing freezes in some Rise blocks
Hi,
since last night, Rise has been freezing while I work on certain blocks. The affected blocks so far are:
- Accordion blocks: freezes Rise when I try to delete something using supr.
- Knowledge check block: same as the accordion, freezes when I try to delete text. I've had Rise freezing even when pasting text.
Things I've tried to no avail:
- Using a different browser (I've tried Chrome and Firefox. Both present the issue)
- Clearing cache.
- Using a different computers. It happens in all of them (I've tried on 3).
I really need help, as there's pretty tight deadlines I need to meet and this issue is making it very difficult to keep a good work flow.
Hi everyone,
I’m happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update fixes the issue you encountered where the editor could freeze when deleting or editing text in certain blocks, such as Accordion and Knowledge Check blocks, especially when lists or multiple line breaks were involved.
There’s nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to refresh the editor.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update or the issue you reported.

It's not just you - I'm also getting this on question and accordion blocks in Rise.

Same here. I've had the same problem in captions for images too, for the gallery blocks.

My Observations: The freeze occurs under the following conditions:
- Editing the end of a paragraph: Only if it is followed by more than one line break.
- Editing within a paragraph: Only if the paragraph contains more than two consecutive line breaks.
I have been avoiding these two scenarios, and no freezing has occurred yet...

Yes! I've observed this too and have been avoiding these scenarios. I've already gotten used to it, but it's not ideal and I really hope a fix is coming soon. At least, some sort of acknowledge from the devs.
Hi FranciscoJosMuC,
Thanks for the detailed write-up, and thanks to everyone else for confirming you’re seeing the same thing.
Based on what you’re describing, this does line up with an issue we’re investigating where Rise can hang when deleting certain text structures, such as unordered lists or multiple line breaks, inside blocks like Accordions.
I’ve gone ahead and connected this discussion to the existing bug report so the team has full visibility into how this is impacting multiple authors.
While the team continues looking into this, the temporary workaround is to avoid deleting content that includes multiple consecutive line breaks or bulleted lists within those blocks, as you’ve already discovered.
If you haven’t already, please open a support case so we can attach your experience directly to the investigation. If possible, sharing a copy of a course where this happens, or clear steps to reproduce it, will help us track the impact more accurately and follow up as we learn more.
Thanks again for flagging this and for your patience, especially with tight deadlines.
