Export to Powerpoint from Storyline
Hi guys,
I have a Storyline project that I would like to be able to edit in Powerpoint - is there a way that is possible? I know going Powerpoint to Storyline is fine, but what about the other way?
I have tried copying and pasting slides, tried copying all elements on a slide and pasting... but no luck!
Really need help PLEASE!

Hi Fernado,
Sorry for any confusion - I'm not sure about any community shared workarounds, but there is not a built-in way to export Storyline back into a Powerpoint file.
If you want to share a bit more about your needs, perhaps we can offer some other ideas or alternatives?

Hi Ashley,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have a linear Storyline I finished yesterday. I will be the one presenting it and walking the group through it. Thus, only the presentation, as if it were a Power Point deck is what is needed, aside form being requested by other executives in that format.
So this, I need to convert it into Power Point. Could you please help me out?

Just set the slide advance to manual and click Next, Project the slides from your laptop and it works just like PowerPoint. You can adjust the Player to get rid of the Index and other controls to make it look more like PowerPoint.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the help. That might be something I could use for now. I am pretty new at this. I just got the Software, and just finished my first Storyline project.
I think I just figured how to set the slide advance to manual. However, the 'next' and 'prev' buttons still show up.
Also, how do I project the slides form my computer? I am guessing the way to do it is by 'publishing' the project. Does that mean I publish it to my computer, or does it get published somewhere else?
My apologies for the basic questions, but I am a newbie and just discovering the potentials of the software.

However, the 'next' and 'prev' buttons still show up.
Go to player and you can select not to show Next and Prev

Publish to CD and in the published folder run the .exe file.

Thank you everyone for your help. I guess due to my lack of knowledge about Storyline I ended up having to re-make the presentation in Power Point as it was needed for today.
Hopefully next time I'll learn more from everyone and put my knew knowledge to work.
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hello! I am tuning in now it seems like 3 years late. I am also looking for an option to export storyline to PPT for the same reason all of the above mentioned and mostly because my SME's want to have this in PPT format for in person discussions or presentations. Has there been an export to PPT feature added in the last 3 years or did I totally miss this train?
Welcome, Meghan! No such thing as too late ☺️
While there isn't a built-in option to export Storyline content into Powerpoint at this time, I've shared your insights with our team, as we're always looking for ways we can make Storyline even better.
I hope the tips shared in this discussion help, and we're here if you need anything else!

I actually asked for a similar feature a few months ago. In the way to figure out what to do, I came across many similar requests. I saw every time through all many different threads the same answer: "While there isn't a built-in option to export Storyline content into Powerpoint at this time, I've shared your insights with our team, as we're always looking for ways we can make Storyline even better"
Has there been any update on this?
Has there been any effort to make this happen?
Thank you for the feedback. I hope this becomes a possibility in the near future.

I'd like to be able to do this so I can create authoring templates for my SMEs/authors in PPT. I want them to be able to visualize the content and work within character limits, but not develop directly in SL. PPT would be great for this. Are there other options for storyboarding outside SL?

I'm confused because it sounds like you are talking about wanting to
go from PPT to Storyline not the other way around. Why not create
the templates in PPT? I'm missing something.Steve

Because I want to use templates from the Storyline content library. So, I want to represent those in PPT for authoring.

Hi Tianna
if you have Articulate 360 you would have access to Studio 360 which opens in PPT.
Couldn't you create the templates in PPT then import into Storyline or am I missing something?

Came across this and thought I would add my 10 cents worth.
I get my SMEs to use Powerpoint as a way to get their content and ideas to me.
They can use Powerpoint but do not have access to Storyline and they would not know how to use it anyway.
In Powerpoint they can create the slides for each screen with the images, design, screen content and suggest using Notes, what they would like to happen.
I import the PPT into Storyline and sprinkle the Magic Articulate Dust onto the project.
Most of the people I work with, do not know what can be done with Storyline do it is up to me, as the Instructional (Educational) Designer to help put their content together in a logical sequence with as much interactivity as possible so their audience learns from the experience.
I am not a designer so Storyline helps me with that aspect and I can concentrate on making a great Educational Learning experience for the audience.
Export it to Powerpoint, no way as I see that as going backwards.

This is basically what I want to do, but I want to use a template set from the Content Library.
