Export to XLIFF 2.0 File in Rise
Really? Where is it? I can't find it anywhere. Does it include a translation database to set common, company-specific terms?
in rise360, when you are on your document, click on the gear (settings) and it is called localization or when you are on your all content page, click on the 3 dots of your course and click on translate.

You'll have to enable the trial first in your team's account - visit the Manage Subscription link by going to your Articulate account page: https://manage.articulate.com/
If the option is available, you'll see Localization and a Start a Trial button.
Once you get it set up, come back to this same page and you can then upload a custom dictionary.

thanks, I was looking for that. Unfortunately, I am not our team manager, so I would have to ask him. Unfortunalety, in a European company, which is aware of certain security risks, anything AI is not so easy and needs to be checked by IT first.
Any data being processed outside Europe for example is an issue, especially countries like Russia, China and , yes, even USA...

AI can be a frustrating word these days as anything technology related seems to be called this. From the Articulate team, they're using both DeepL and Amazon Translate (when DeepL doesn't have an equivalent language), which are both algorithm in nature rather than 'AI'.
But to answer your more pertinent question, is where the data is processed and Articulate changed that last year which should address IT's valid concerns.

OK, but that only works if you have the AI version of the Articulate suite, right?
This is the first real benefit I can see in the AI version. The other AI stuff proved to be pretty useless for the content we create.
Articulate is handling the AI and translation as separate offerings. You get to decide how much of the extras you want to go in on.

440 € per machine translation is very steep price, though.
Seriously? Can you specify a bit? It would help us massively, but for that cost, I would charge my company half of that as a bargain and get rich 😂
Is that really per translation? No wonder they hide their prices...
From what I gathered from our contact, you can buy a 25 translation contingent for what amounts to 440€ / translation. If your trainings are long, you get a decent price, but if they're short, you pay a lot. I guess they wanted to avoid complications of exact word count pricing and didn't want to go the risk of a flatrate. Understandable, but looking at DeepL API pricing it's a lot (1 million characters cost 20 €).
Even if you calculate low 2000 characters per A4 page, you could translate 11.000 pages for 440 €.
Our e-learnings have maybe 5-15 pages of text on average, so 0,20 - 0,60 € of pure translation cost...
But maybe my math is wrong ...
So there we have the reason why they don't seem to put any effort into this whole XLIFF situation for YEARS!
Simply to put a way overpriced (according to other commuinty members' quotiations) AI localization tool out and force people to use it... time to look for a different autoring tool I guess...
