Extract slides from question bank
Hi Heroes,
I've imported some Quizmaker slides into Storyline and want them to appear as individual slides. No matter how I import them, Storyline creates a question bank. How do I get the slides OUT of the question bank and into a scene?
Thanks,
=Diane

Hi Diane,
I apologize if I'm not understanding this correctly, but it sounds like you've imported Quizmaker questions and they're not showing up in slides. Is that right?
If you're creating a brand new course and wanting to import these files, you should be able to select "Import Quizmaker" on the Storyline splash screen. After doing so, you'll have the option to insert the questions into a new scene.
If you're importing questions into an existing course, it should be pretty similar. To import into an existing course, click on the Articulate "A" menu in the top left-hand corner of the window. Then, click on "Import" and "Quizmaker". After selecting the file, you'll see a similar prompt that will allow you to insert the questions into a scene.
If neither of these methods works for you, you should be able to insert questions in the question bank into a scene by using the "Question Banks" menu in the "Scenes" section while in Story view. Select "New Draw from Question Bank...". After doing so, you'll be able to select the questions you'd like to insert into a scene.
If you're still unable to get this working, or if you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks!

Thanks Christine,
I had no trouble importing the questions from Quizmaker into Storyline. Where I had trouble was extracting the slides from the Question Bank so they could be viewed as separate slides. My solution was to open the question bank, double-click one question to open them all, and copy them one-by-one into a new scene. Very time-consuming and not at all efficient.
It would be much easier if I could click a button and release the slides from the bank into a scene.

Hi Diane --
You can copy and paste the questions from the bank into your story.
1. Open the question bank
2. Holding down the shift, select the slides you would like to copy
3. Right click and copy or cntrl c each questions you would like to insert as an individual slide
4. from the Story View, paste your slides in the scene you would like them to appear.
hope this helps --

I've got the same issues. Storyline imports my questions as a bank or group. I want them as individual slides.
I tried selecting all the questions in the group and copying them, but Storyline won't play ball.
It will only copy them one at a time - an unnecessarily tedious procedure.
Hi Eoghan!
The copy does not work for me either, but if you modify #3 above and select all questions you want, right click to duplicate (which seems to copy/duplicate at the same time), then go to Story View and paste, then just delete the duplicates from your Question Bank (which you can select multiples at a time here too). Maybe not ideal, but still faster than individually

I need the students to be able to retake the quiz and my questions are in a question bank which doesn't seem to work with html5. Can anybody suggest how to get the questions out of the bank and onto the scene so people can retake the quiz? thanks,
Hi Julie and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Are you on the latest update of Storyline? This was something that was corrected with our Storyline Update 3 release and you can read about the issue here as well as find a link to download update 3.

Hi All,
I have a question. Under Review 360, I find an additional slide at the end of all the questions but there's no slide in the question bank. I request you to advice on how can I delete / hide that slide.

Hi, Deepika.
I'm happy to help!
Can you share the .story file either here or privately through a support case so we can help you troubleshoot?

Thank you for replying :)
I'm afraid I'll not be able to share the .story file but I can explain here.
For e.g. there are total 20 questions in the assessment i.e. 4 questions in 5 question banks. While reviewing them on Review 360, we can see all 20 questions and an additional slide that also appears which is a blank slide with 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons at the bottom and 'Exit' on the top right hand corner. Now, there's no extra slide in any of the question banks but it still appears. Please advice what can be done as it isn't there in any of the question banks.
