Facing issues with custom block — image upload and font not visible on mobile

Hi everyone,
I’ve created a custom chat-style block in my course, similar to a conversation layout (like the one in my attached screenshot).

I’m facing two issues:

  1. Image Upload Issue:
Currently, I have to upload profile images individually for each chat bubble (for example, one for each message).
Is there a way to upload it once for each character (like a master image) and have it automatically appear for all messages from that person?
  2. Font Not Visible on Mobile:
On phone screens, the font becomes too small or sometimes disappears — it’s not scaling properly in responsive view.
Is there any setting or CSS trick to fix text visibility or scaling for mobile in custom blocks?

I’m building this in Rise 360 (please change if you’re using Storyline).
Any suggestions or examples would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance 🙏

I had the same issue with the fonts on mobile, as it's beta I'm waiting for a fix in the final release and not using it for now.

  • Hi TeamemPower-4cb and Chris-Hurst,

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and for the helpful context!

For the profile image question, there isn’t currently a way to assign a single “master” image for a character in custom chat-style blocks. Each message bubble requires its own upload. I’ve shared your idea with our product team as a feature request since that kind of reusable image setup would definitely help streamline the workflow.

As for the font visibility issue on mobile, you’re right that this is a known limitation with the current custom block implementation. Text may appear smaller or fail to reflow properly on smaller screens. Our team is aware of it and working toward improvements to make custom blocks fully responsive in future updates.

I really appreciate both of you taking the time to surface these details. Feedback like this helps us make Rise better for everyone.
