FAQ
I have an Engage FAQ slide with ten slides. Currently, the viewer cannot navigate away from the slide unless he/she goes over all questions. How can I make it possible to navigate away from the slide without having to go over all questions? to make it a sort of reference FAQ page. In the Player Templates>Navigation the User Navigation is set to: Free-user can view slides in any order. please help.
Thanks,
Anton

Hi Anton,
What type of images, exactly? Are you referring to the animated characters, illustrated characters, design backgrounds or..?
Storyline:
Storyline natively supports characters.
Articulate Studio '13:
Articulate Studio '13 will natively support characters.
Articulate Studio '09:
You can use characters in Articulate Studio '09 content, but it's not a native experience. To do so:
- First, insert the character—with the expression and pose that you want to use—into a slide in Storyline.
- Right-click the character, and select Save as Picture.
- Then import the saved picture into Presenter '09, Quizmaker '09, or Engage '09.

Thanks, Christine:
I mean any kind of characters. I've been creating characters and saving them as jpgs and pngs. while it is fun to do so, the process is time consuming. I was wondering how to load the Storyline library of characters (illustrated and animated) to use in Presenters 09'. If it is not possible to download the Storyline library of characters, where can I find such library?
thanks for all your valuable help.

Good morning Anton!
I'm afraid that's not possible, currently. However, you will have access to the characters in Studio '13 (as mentioned above).
In the meantime, you'll need to use the method you're currently using for the characters. Hopefully it won't be too long before you have the option to use them in your Studio projects without the additional steps :) I don't know about you, but I'm very excited about this and many other features coming along with '13! :D
I hope you have a great day, Anton!

Hi Christine,
With your help I'm becoming proficient with Articulate and that is great! Thank you so much, and I Look forward to Studio '13.
Yesterday I worked on finishing a quiz that I’ve been working on. I added the last questions and I saved each question right after adding it. After adding the questions, I clicked on the Save and Return to Presenter button and it would not click. It would show that the button is being clicked, but Quizmaker would not save and close as it usually does. I tried to use the save icon (located on top left side of Quizmaker), and it worked. Or at least that’s what I thought, because after I reopened the quiz I noticed that all the work I've done was not there. None of the questions I added was there.
Is there a way to retrieve those questions?

Hi Anton,
Hmm, that sounds strange. If you were saving the quizzes each time, it should be saved in the .QUIZ file. When you're viewing the quiz and the questions are missing, are you viewing it from Presenter?
It sounds like the quiz that was inserted into Presenter didn't update, but maybe the original .QUIZ file did. Any chance you chose "Save As" by accident? I would try checking your save directory and see if there were any recently modified/saved files. Hopefully you'll be able to find the one that's been updated and contains those questions.
I'm also concerned that the "Save and Return" button isn't working for you. When you went to modify the quiz, did you do so from the slide within Presenter?
Thanks Anton!

Hi Christine,
I was viewing it from Presenter, tried to view it from Quizmaker.
I don’t think I used the "Save as" by accident, because it would have prompted me to select directory and enter a name.
I modified the Quiz from the slide in Presenter. Is it preferrabl to modify quizes using Quizmaker?
Thanks. I thought that something would usually lead to this in Quizmaker or Presenter which I am trying to avoid in the future.

Hi Anton,
That's right, it would prompt you. Didn't think that was the case, but I just wanted to try and narrow it down a little :)
I always recommend modifying the quiz from within the Presenter slide for the quiz. However, if something happens with the Presenter file, there's a possibility it wouldn't update properly, so it can be helpful to test the quiz in Quizmaker alone.
Also, it sounds like something that may happen if you're working with files stored externally. All the project files are on your local hard drive, correct?
Thanks!

Yes, of course.

Hi Christine,
Thanks again for all your help.
Thought that you'd like to know that the issue has been resolved. For some reason, after installing an update to Articulate (IE 10 support) the security software installed on my system was preventing Quizmaker from functioning properly. That's all.
Have a great weekend.
Anton

Hi Anton,
Whoops, somehow I missed your last response. Sorry about that!
I'm very happy to hear you were able to resolve this, though. Thanks so much for the update, I appreciate it!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well! :)
