Feedback comments not linked
Review 360 can't link a comment directly to a word, phrase, or sentence like MS Word Comments can.
Comments on a Storyline course are only "linked" to a given slide. That means SMEs have to explicitly describe the changes they want to ensure it's obvious what they mean.
It gets even trickier with a Rise course, because it's not always obvious what block someone is commenting on. In my experience, the part of the course that gets "attached" to the comment can vary quite a bit, based on the person's browser width, as well as the length & type of the blocks.
Personally, I find it's better to create a separate review file in Word. I use a 2-column table. In the left column, I insert screenshots of each slide or block, one per row. For interactions, I use multiple rows, so that each part of the interaction (e.g., layers in Storyline) is in its own row. I also include notes about how the interactions work. The SMEs enter their comments about a given screenshot in the right column.
- Obviously, this takes time to prepare. But it ensures that the SMEs' comments will be associated with the correct part of the course (though it still doesn't provide sentence-specific granularity).
- Another advantage is that this allows someone to review the content without having to step through the course. (Very handy if a course has to be reviewed by Legal folks.)
