Global Course COUNTER in Articulate 360

Greetings, 

Overview: I have a single A360 file with 5 Scenes - approx 50 slides total.
I am using several Master Slide LAYOUTS (7) throughtout the course
- for navigation purposes, etc.

I inserted a Slide Number variable onto each Master Slide Layout being used.
(See attached images).

Issue: The Slide Number variable is getting re-set when jumping between the Master Slide Layouts.

Question: Is there a better- cleaner way to use a Global Navigation COUNTER?

    A suggested option is to 

    1 - Remove Slide Number COUNTER from Master Slides.
    2 - Copy and past on each visited slide in course (49).

    I will test this option.
