Go-to Slide in Storyline
Does anyone know if it is possible somehow to go to a specific slide using the keyboard (not the mouse) while developing a course in Storyline? - or if it is possible to create a custom shortcut to do this?
Just to clarify, this would be for navigating within Storyline while developing a course, not for the published output.
Thanks!

That's an interesting idea. So like, I could press Ctrl+5 and Storyline would open the slide view of slide 2.4 or something? I've never seen anything like that, and since some projects can have dozens of slides I can only see a few specific use cases. Do other development tools do this?

Here's what I do to make it easy to jump from one slide to another slide in a different scene.
First, click each slide in Story View. That will open each slide in a separate tab in Slide View (as shown in the image below). To switch which slide you're editing, just click its tab.
Note: The image shows tabs for the first slide in each of 3 scenes. But the tab can be to any other slide.
I like to open a separate tab for each scene in the project, and use the tabs to switch between scenes. To me, that's easier than switching scenes via the dropdown at the top of the Scenes panel, because using the drop down always brings you to the first slide.

AndrewBlemings- I was referring to a keyboard shortcut that would open a small dialog asking for a slide number to be typed. So, you type the slide number + OK and it would take you to that slide.
JudyNollet Thanks Judy. Yes, I am aware of that method and sometimes it works for me, but a shortcut would be much nicer and faster.- AndrewBlemings-Community Member
That's an interesting method, I'd be down for that. Especially if the dialog list showed the slide names next to their numbers for easier identification. Since slides can be put into scenes, maybe prepending the slide number with the scene number, e.g., 2.14 or 3.1.
Maybe cross-post this to the Suggest Ideas | E-Learning Heroes section?
Hi Aukalen & AndrewBlemings-,
Great to see that Judy has been helping you.
Currently, Storyline does not support a "Go-to Slide" shortcut feature, but I can see the value in having this functionality.
