Hiding and showing base layer objects on slide layers
Just started having this issue on Storyline 360. I am updating some older courses and am spending too much time cleaning this up on each slide. Many slides have layers and in most cases very few objects on the base layer are shown on subsequent layers. Now I want to add only the "Text Box" for the slide title from the base layer to the other layers, but when I click on that "Eye," all of the objects on the base layer become visible so now I need to go back through and hide all of the ones I don't want. Just creating extra work that adds up to lost time.
I did a reload of the program, no change.
Is anyone else having this issue? If so, any work arounds?
Thanks,
Barry

Expand the base layer before you click the eye. Then you can add or subtract every item individually.
If that doesn't work for you, can you please attach a video showing what is happening?

Thanks Walt,
I attached a video of what is going on.

Hi Barry,
Thanks for sharing a video of what you're experiencing in this thread!
I replicated this behavior on my end when inserting objects into the base layer and adding a Slide Layer into the mix. I went into the Slide Layer Properties window and made sure to adjust the visibility to the following:
Could you please confirm that you are hiding the base layer from your Slide Layer within the Slide Properties? If you do change the visibility with the eye icon in the timeline, it will change the properties to uncheck the Hide objects on the base layer option which will then automatically show all objects again.
Happy to look at your .story file in this thread or privately in a support case to confirm we have the same settings.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thanks Luciana,
Yes, I have them set to Hide objects on the base layer. Unchecking the box changes the behavior. Either way, requires having to go through all of the objects in the Base Layer Objects section that are not needed to be shown. Be nice if Hide objects on the base layer would change the state of all objects when checked/unchecked, but changing the eye on one object would not change the state of the Hide objects on the base layer statues. That way you could hide all elements of the base layer with one click, then turn on only the objects you want to show without fighting the Hide objects on the base layer reset.
At least now I know what is going on.
Thanks,
Barry
