How are others making cartoon like animated characters in Storyline?

I was reviewing some previous eLearning Challenges and noticed that some designers are using advanced animations that look like a cartoon. These characters move freely with their entire body, arms, legs, and facial expressions. The backgrounds of the slides change and plants move etc. How are they doing this?

  • Hi Sarah! I suspect you might be seeing examples that use a third-party cloud-based app called Vyond.  That tools allows you to produce animations as mp4 files, that play like a video would in Storyline.  Something like this?

In which case, that would definitely be Vyond , although other tools are available.

May I ask you what other similar solutions you know?
Do you know how much time could it take to learn Vyond for an expert instructional designer?

Hi Paulo, there are plenty of such applications available on the market.

        • Animaker
        • Powtoon
        • Adobe animate
        • Toonly
        • Doodly

        All the best.
