How can I customize a video cover/landing page on RISE page?

Hello,

I cannot seem to find similar discussions so just ask in here for a quick solution. If I upload a video to RISE, how can I make sure the video cover page (with that little PLAY button) is exactly the same page/image after upload?

I created some animated videos (MP4 format). After I uploaded them to RISE, the landing page of the video on RISE page is sometimes black, then after clicking on the PLAY button, everything is normal.  I guess it's because I have some animations even before the title is shown on the video cover page per se. How can I make sure the video cover page with little PLAY button on RISE can be fully shown even before clicking the PLAY button.

I attached the video cover page/image screenshot from my RISE course, so it should be clearer if I cannot make myself clear. LoL

Thank you very much in advance!

Phoebe

  • Hello PhoebeLu-4abae4,

    Happy to help!

When you upload a video to a Rise 360 video block, the block will display the first frame of the video as a thumbnail. If you want a specific image to be displayed as your video thumbnail, you can use Replay 360 or another video editing tool to edit your video and add your desired image for the thumbnail at the start of the video. Doing so will replace the black screen shown in your attached image.

    I hope this helps!

  • I'm struggling with this as well since other videos built in other tools don't appear with a black screen with a play button, but those videos created in Storyline do.  This is very inconvenient since we need all of our videos to appear the same way in Rise. Having to pull the videos into another app just to fix this is frustrating and time consuming.  Storyline should consider changing how mp4s created in the  tool appear in Rise. Especially if they will behave differently than other MP4s.
