How to advance slides with a clicker
I need to give a presentation , but I have to advance slides with a clicker, using time line it´s not an option. I´ll be talking about SL so I can´t just use PPT. Any advice?

For the keyboard trigger to work the slide has to have to focus, I suspect selecting an object in the menu means the player now has focus, you could try adding a data entry field on the slide at the bottom of the timeline (it can be off slide) more often than not this ensures the slide has focus.

Has anyone tried using RISE, applying the page down trigger, and using a presentation clicker to navigate through material?
If so I would love to hear the outcome.

Are there any updates to using the Logitech R500 remote clicker with a Storyline file so a presenter is not tied to their laptop? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Since bringing this thread back to life didn't work with the original people on it, did you find any answers?

I'm interested as well. We were video recording today an item published in storyline and had to keep going to the computer. We had 2 clickers that would not work.

Same issue for me, trying to use Storyline published to the Web for speaker support on a Macintosh: On the keyboard, page-up and page-down work fine for going through the slides. But using the Logitech R500s presentation remote, nothing.
Using it on a Keynote file, it works fine, which would indicate that the remote is communicating a page-up and page-down to the computer, which then changes slides, just as if the keys are being pressed.
But somehow, Storyline published to the Web does not see page-up and page-down from a remote as equivalent to having those same keys pressed on a keyboard.
How can I fix this to be able to use the remote?

I think I have figured this out. When you open the trigger and select "user presses key . . . " use the clicker itself and press the forward button that you want to use to move forward. For me, it has shown up as the right arrow key. Then, for each progression, use a cue to pause the timeline, then resume when the forward clicker button is pressed until the next pause cue in the timeline. It has worked consistently. Not sure about Rise yet, but it has worked in Storyline. :D

So simple. So effective, once you know the correct keys to program in. Thank you Susanne for saving me tremendous frustration. I am going to demonstrate this in an on-line Storyline workshop through the San Diego ATD that I facilitate and give you full credit. If you care to join us, it is March 21 (2024) and you can register for the workshop on the San Diego ATD website (https://tdsandiego.org/).
Hope to see you there.
