How to jump to a specific frame in a video

I have a video file which is actually a collection of still images, sort of like stop animation.

This video is posted here... (and yes it's from  1994, and yes it's sort of pre-dates QuicktimeVR)

In Storyline, I'm trying to create a custom slider that will allow the user to jump to a specific frame, allowing the user to spin the object left and right 360 degrees.

I have figured out how to export one frame at a time as still, and use triggers via my slider to show and hide one still at a time, but looking for a more elegant way to do it.

I tried using triggers to jump to cues or time points on the timeline, but that doesnt work, or I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks!

  • Hi Oliver,

    Happy to help!

Theoretically, you can use the "Jump to time/cue point" trigger to show a specific frame in your video as long as your video is in sync with the slide's timeline. If this isn't working for you, could we see your project file to better understand how you set your interaction up? If you're willing, please share a copy of your project file here or privately by opening a support case for testing. We'll delete it when we're done!

You might want to export the video as frames, and then you can associate the frames with a scrolling slider.
